Surrealism, made famous by artists such as Salvador Dali, can be a great avenue for interesting and mind bending tee-shirt design. Designing a surrealistic shirt can be a chore in and of itself, but Ian Brock at Uneetee decided to throw in a little modern twist by adding the "this rocks" hand gesture.
It's almost reminiscent of the old never ending reflection illusion, where the reflection reflects the reflection which reflects the reflection.....you get the idea. The way Ian used the halftone pattern in the characters jacket really helps to give it that antique look. Yet, this design is still following along the widely used pattern of juxtaposing an odd concept of some sort (surrealism) and inserting "rocks" or "I (heart) (odd concept)" along side it. One day, far in the future, we might actually stumble upon an original idea.
