Uneetee: Bird of Fire

0 pennies earned

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's...well, a phoenix. There are, in fact, two designs on this shirt. The first is the most obvious, and that is the phoenix. Dina Prasetyawan does a good job combining elements of other birds to create a famous mythical creature. The varying shades of red and orange create an image of fire, and the black accentuates the detail. Now on to the second part. Behind the phoenix seems to be buildings that are ablaze. One person in the upper right hand corner is burning and a little kid seems to be jumping out the window. I guess the bird of fire set a town on fire. Whoops.

The two very different artistic styles make for an interesting combination, but it suffers the age old problem of looking busy. There are too many things happening on the tee that you can't really tell what's going on in the background, and that's really the punchline of the shirt. The design also doesn't look that good on a t-shirt, mostly because
it seems very constricted in its circular border and because it's centered. It would be cool if the designs were on the sleeves of the shirt, and the shirt were a different color.
