Uneetee: City Built of Rock and Roll

8 pennies earned

What bands comprise Rock and Roll's foundations? Well, according to Aaron Burk's design the City Built of Rock and Roll encompasses: The Cure, Slayer, Pearl Jam, Queen, Aerosmith, The Clash, Pink Floyd, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Black Sabbath, Guns N Roses, Sex Pistols, The Police, Kiss, Smashing Pumpkins, Anthrax, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Genesis (we're sure he means the Peter Gabriel Genesis and not the Phil Collins soft-rock iteration), The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Misfits, AC/DC, Van Halen, Metallica, Motley Crüe, Foo Fighters, The Who, and (of course) The Beatles as cornerstone.

Foo Fighters beat out Nirvana for a position!?

Comment away and let us know who would you add or subtract from this list?

The Clash, Sex Pistols, and the Misfits make it... but the Ramones don't? And tell me they misspelled "Black SABATH" at the top of that skyscraper?!

(And yes, personally, I agree with putting the Foo Fighters in over Nirvana. I'm of the opinion that Cobain was much more of an idiot than a musical genius.)

You mean, sabath isn't spelled with one B? Can't believe Burk boinked that baby.

And everyone knows that Slayer has contributed more to rock and roll than The Ramones, right??

Guess I've got to bone up on my Foo Fighters before giving them short shrift...

Dude Nirvana totally deserves a spot, they have iconic symbols in the rock world. The smiley face and the naked baby album cover are classics. I can't believe they didnt make the shirt.

Lame.

Well, I'll rebut that by saying that having iconic symbols still does not make your music good.

Somebody fixed the misspelling when I finally ordered the shirt. Sabbath still has one 'B' in the image but my shirt came spelled correctly.

Thanks, DDog, for the update. That makes a big difference.

The person writing the review above the picture also has typo. The correct spelling is Zeppelin not "Zepplin

Thanks. I fixed the typo.
