Even a shirt with just the words "Most Deadly" on it seems better than a shirt with random boxes of color surrounding those words.
Maybe someone has a clue what this means.
It's certainly not a gauge of deadliness as it's in the middle between the hot and cold colors and they aren't snakes as they have no heads or tails. Ok, I better quit while I'm ahead...
Maybe someone has an answer...

I think it's definitely meant to refer to the HUD (heads up display) in a video game. You know, power and energy meters or something. Don't know what those have to do with "most deadly" though.

Halo...

*Ahem* Pay attention now, class.

It's not Halo. The "random boxes of color" are the life guage from Goldeneye 64. In said game, at the end of every multiplayer match it gave people rankings such as "most cowardly", "most harmless", etc. The very best you could get was most "most deadly". Therefore, this is a full life-guage + the best ranking.

:)

Wow, talk about obscure reference... I wonder how many people would recognize that. I mean, I play the game, and I didn't get it.

I played the game, a decent amount, and I missed it too.

Excellent analysis, Thomas -- thanks a ton!

Looking back, it's definitely that "Goldeneye" font..

Here's a couple screenshots of Goldeneye that I dug up, showing the life gauges:

Rather than consider that I'm missing out on something, I prefer to think of it as the worst Portal reference ever.

Thanks, Thomas. Makes much more sense now...

For some reason I was thinking it had something to do with a game show. Probably is a video game reference though.

James Bond.
It's from the video games...i kind of wish i saw this earlier, so i could have credit for something i actually know for once ;)

Yeah, getting the right answer eight posts late definitely doesn't do much to prove that you knew the answer already. Don't worry, though...we're a very trusting bunch and are happy to give you credit anyway!

I recognized it instantly. Nice Shirt. Good times.

Anyone that didn't catch this must not have played the marvelous game.

Caught it right away, loved this game back in the day, and I can still play it unlike more modern shooters with way too many buttons on the controller.

OMG thx!! was driving me crazy that I couldn't remember what game that was from :)

I played the game. I smiled when I saw this shirt! I definitely recognized it, and I'm definitely buying it. Great shirt <333

Plus, one of the best Bond games made as well as a great shooter on the 64.

Wow! Its amazing how many stabs in the dark there are here. Its from Goldeneye 007 on n64. The blue meter is the armor level and the orange spectrum is the life meter. Its the award after multiplayer games that you press left a bunch of times to see your awards.

Thanks, Anony. Thomas figured it out for us when we published this in 2008 ;)

Damn it's sad to see newbies for years trying to figure out what game this is from. This was THE shooter of the 90s kids. If you thought it was Halo, you're a scrub.
