Woot Shirt: Facade

2 pennies earned

While it is a thrill to see such an ornate design from such an inexpensive printer ($10 t-shirts daily, shipping included!!) it's a shame that we just can't get behind this southerly-printed design.

In certain situations, it might be rather difficult to explain the a face staring out of your stomach, especially as it's secretive nature does nothing the engender trust in its motives.

When are you going to learn Shirt.Woot? Steven Lefcourt designs just do not sell well.

It was surprising to me to see so many negative comments in the Woot forum for this shirt. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think people should blow smoke or anything, but, what is the point of chiming in to say something like "Ugliest.Shirt.Ever." or much worse.
There are so many designs I don't like on Woot, and, if I have a reason, I may say what I like or not, but, I see no need to go into a thread just to bag on someone's work. It's kind of a herd mentality. That anonymous internet thing where no one knows you so you can trash them en masse.
Now, of course, I'm not talking about constructive criticism or even just "it's not for me".
Anyway, their comments pushed me over to buying it. I like that it's different and am a fan of Salvador Dali and freaky modern art. I like the mixture of seeming straight architecture juxtaposed with this trippy face - hence "facade". I guess I don't really mind people staring at my stomach - lol.
Also, it's true that we rarely see ornate designs on Woot, moreso at DBH or Uneetee which I love, but, sometimes the shipping and prices kill my ability to just buy whatever I want. If I really love it there, I will transcend that hesitation and just go for it.
I don't really get Woot's audience. Some shirts that are popular are amazing and to me others are real dogs, but, chacun a son gout.

Alright, so I had to look up "chacun a son gout" -- but it was worth it. Perhaps we should change our tagline from "Your daily dose of t-shirt deals" to "Chacun a son gout." It would better represent our philosophy that the beauty of style is that it's the the best externalization of our subjective experience.

Hence, Comment Appreciation Month. Of course, it wouldn't really reflect our focus on daily t-shirt sales so well.

Also, I respect that the multitude of vitriol pushed you over the edge into buying this tee. Sometimes things that are most controversial are so for a reason.
