But it's impossible to argue the fact that our country would be in a completely different place now had Gore been appointed president eight years ago. Gas might still be expensive, but we would be much further down the road to attaining oil-indepedence (not to be confused with the oil-friendly term "energy-independence") than we are currently.; September 06, 2008
